Taman Tugu

We understand that today, urban dwellers want to be involved in community building and environmental conservation at a pace they are comfortable with; we invented a program where one's shopping experience also results in soul-filled satisfaction of giving back to the environment. Hence, 10% from each limited edition merchandise sold featuring our instore "Urban Wall" art will be used to "Adopt A Tree" in support of the green initiative led by Amanah Warisan Negara (AWAN) for maintaining the trails and facilities in the 66-acre Taman Tugu; the urban green lung and natural heritage of Kuala Lumpur.

Our limited edition assembles feature contemporary arts rendered by our homegrown artist Zee Tan Zhi Wang; capturing the intertwined relationship between nature and urban civilization; murals depict the magnificence of a preserved forest and feed a closer look at a tree that unconsciously embellishes our atmosphere, keeping the environment inhabitable.

About Taman Tugu

Taman Tugu site was transferred to Amanah Warisan Negara ("AWAN") (National Heritage Trust) to be managed and protected into perpetuity as a public green space. AWAN is a national public trust founded by Khazanah Nasional Berhad with a longer-term objective to rejuvenate, rehabilitate and operate selected public areas with heritage assets of national significance.

Among its key initiative to preserve Taman Tugu is the "Adopt a Tree" program, which aims to leave a mark for generations as about 4,100 Malaysian indigenous forest trees have been added to the Taman Tugu trails. Individuals or organizations can select and adopt a tree or cluster of trees about 10ft (3m). Participating in the adoption program lets one personalize the tree plaque's message. The same plaque will be used for annual adoption, but the wording "annual adoption" will appear on the plaque.

The donations are used to preserve the reserve forest and ensure visitors to Taman Tugu enjoy well-maintained trails and clean functioning facilities all year round. The operating budget includes the cost of maintaining the trails and trees, safety and security crew, facilities, waste management, space activation, and engagement with underprivileged communities.
